General FAQs
We Require 24 hours’ notice for cancellation or rescheduling of a tutorial. We make every effort to schedule our lessons around the client’s interests. Every student is busy, and every student’s schedule changes from time to time. We recognize this to be the case, but to be fair to our many tutors and respect their time, we require students and parents to plan and prepare properly to account for any differences in the appointment times.
Engaging us for our services is a formal commitment; we ask that you recognize the limitations we have on our time and resources, in the way you would any other professional services firms.
While we can schedule and will schedule appointments for as little as half an hour, we stress a one hour minimum per lesson, especially for standardized test preparation, as time frames less than that are sub-optimal when it comes to the students’ final performance on test day. 1.5- and 2.5- hour long appointments are perfectly acceptable as well.
All our tutoring takes place on Zoom, Skype, Facetime, or some other internet-based
application. Our only in person appointments are available with our founder’s company, Northside Tutoring, in Atlanta, Georgia. Please refer to that company’s website here: www.northsidetutoring.com.
Yes, of course we do. Our founder has helped hundreds of students with learning challenges achieve their goals.
Even though at this time, we do not have an Orton-Gillingham trained tutor for the purposes of tutoring students with dyslexia, we do have a robust referral system in place. We are very happy to find a highly trained tutor for any student’s specific situation with one of our friends and colleagues anywhere across the nation.
